What is Tailwind?
Tailwind is an app that helps bloggers schedule out their pins on Pinterest instead of sitting at the computer and pinning each day. Basically, you can select hundreds of pins for the week, and Tailwind will add them to your schedule to be pinned at optimal times. Using Tailwind to manage pinning is preferred by bloggers for many reasons.
1) Pinterest seems to reward active pinners. Tailwind will help your profile stay active by scheduling your pins while you are taking care of other things.
2) Tailwind will pick the best times for you to pin. This keeps your pins in front of your audience when they are on Pinterest, even if you are not.
3) You can batch your pinning to save time. I don’t know about you, but when I get on Pinterest I end up going down so many rabbit holes. Half the time I cannot even remember what I was searching for to begin with. Sitting down to select pins once a week is much more efficient than trying to select pins every day.
This app has saved me many, many hours a week all while growing my viewers from 0 to over 60,000 in less than 2 months. My profile impressions have also increased from 0 each day to an average of 2550. I am still new in this game and my numbers are not huge like the big guys, but I wanted to post my growth to prove that Tailwind has been successful for me.
Each Saturday morning, I add all my pins for the week to Tailwind. Right now, I am scheduling about 30 pins per day. In March, I will be scheduling 50 pins per week to see if that helps increase not only my reach, but also my followers. I would like for my follower number to increase faster (if possible).
Tailwind has features built in to make pinning in batches super efficient. You can pin a group of pins to a board or a predetermined group of boards. For example, I may go find a bunch of pins on DIY Home Projects, save them to my drafts, and then just tell Tailwind to pin them all to my DIY Home Decor board. Super easy and super fast!
Each Saturday, I also share my new pins with my tribes and pin from my tribes. Tribes are groups of Tailwind users that share pins to extend their reach. I have seen great results with tribes. Here is a great post about which tribes are available for different niches. If you do join a tribe, make sure to read and follow the rules.
This Saturday morning pinning session takes me about 2 hours. I estimate my time spent would be at least triple that if I sat down to pin every day and without the benefits that Tailwind gives me. I am hoping to get faster though 🙂
If you are not currently using Tailwind, you can try it for one month FREE.
Please check back again soon! I will be adding more blogging resources as I discover resources and systems that have proven successful for me.
